Employees not subject to the Salaried Employees Act are often categorised as blue-collar workers or hourly workers.

Hourly workers because they do not, contrary to salaried employees, get a monthly salary, but are paid weekly or biweekly based on a fixed hourly rate.

Pay
Hourly workers may be covered by a "collective agreement" if they are members of a trade union. For example, the trade union Dansk Metal has reached a pay agreement with the Danish Employers´ Confederation on behalf of metalworkers.
However, only employers who have acceded to the agreement are bound by it.
You can find pay level statistics on each individual trade unions´ home page.

No particular employment law must be observed for workers not covered by a collective agreement, except for statutory provisions. Such being Holidays with Pay Act, Unemployment Insurance Act, Sickness Benefits Act, Equal Treatment Act, etc.

Employing hourly workers outside of a collective agreement gives you a rather free hand, however, you have to deal with most of the personnel undertaking yourself.

Often, it is wise to make employment contracts closely related to the provisions of the collective agreements - this usually facilitates workplace peace.
